A TYPICAL WEDDING DAY FOR THE CAR(S)
It is important that the car(s) you reserve for the big day meet the requirements of your Wedding Party and, are planned out in advance. How will the Bride, Groom, Parents, Chief Bridesmaid and Bridesmaids travel to the Wedding?
To the Ceremony
In some cases, Wedding Party individuals may be staying at the Ceremony/Reception venue, which would save on transport requirements. If this is not the case, then you will probably need to arrange for at least two or possibly three cars for your Wedding Party guests. We do understand that some guests may use their own cars for this.
As an example, a typical Wedding Day is as follows:
· The Groom and Best Man leave together, usually from the Groom’s home and arrive at the Ceremony venue first. Their car could be a sports or modern executive car or, of course, one of their own cars.
· The Mother of the Bride, Chief Bridesmaid and Bridesmaids leave together, usually from the Bride’s parent’s home, and arrive for the Ceremony approximately 15 minutes before the Bride arrives. The Bridesmaids usually wait outside for the arrival of the Bride whilst the Mother of the Bride is usually escorted to her seat, by one of the Ushers. We have a white modern Mercedes 4-seater saloon and the use of a silver 6-seater Volvo limousine for this purpose or, again, one of their own cars could be used.
· The Bride and Father of the Bride leave together, usually from the Brides parents’ home, and arrive at the Ceremony venue last. This would be in our main Bridal car, the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow and is the car that all guests will see as the newlywed couple are taken to the Reception venue.
It is possible for a car to be shared if the time/distance allows. For example: The Groom and Best Man could be picked up in the Mercedes and dropped at the Ceremony and then return to pick up the Mother of the Bride and Bridesmaids. Please remember that if the Reception is at a different location, the car may need to be shared again, although other guests sometimes help with this.
Please understand this is just a typical example of how the car(s) can be used and we do not want you to feel pressured into hiring extra cars. We do know that costs can be an important factor on this big day and understand that some of the arrangements for transport can be met by family or friends. Our aim is to provide you with the main Bridal car but we do have the other cars, if you require them.
To the Reception
(This could be a formal dinner Reception and/or an evening party Reception).
Please note, in the event of a daytime Wedding with a formal dinner Reception, the Hire period would finish at the time of drop-off at this venue.
In the event of a late afternoon wedding that is followed by a evening party Reception, the Hire period would finish at the time of drop-off at this venue.
In most cases the same car(s) used for transport to the Ceremony would be used for transport to the Reception venue.
As an example, a typical arrangement could be as follows:
· The Newlyweds leave from the Ceremony in the Bridal car and would usually be the first to arrive at the Reception venue so as to greet all their guests.
· The Bridesmaids and Best Man leave together and would usually arrive at the Reception venue shortly after the Newlyweds.
· The Father and Mother of the Bride leave together and usually arrive at the Reception venue last.
Once again, if you do book a second car from us, depending on time and distance, it could be used for the Bridesmaids and Best Man journey and then go back for the Father and Mother of the Bride journey or, as before, family and friends may help with this.
Leaving the Reception
This service is not normally provided within the Hire period. However, if the Newlyweds would like to be taken, in the Bridal car, to an evening Reception Party/Function, (it may be that the Wedding day has a Formal Dinner Reception for the Ceremony Guests, in the case of a daytime Wedding with an evening Reception for all other Guests) or, to their Honeymoon accommodation, this service can be provided. Bearing in mind that it may be several hours after the initial Hire period, a 'waiting' time would need to be accounted for or, the Bridal car could return at a pre-arranged time, for this service, (dependent on distance). Please be aware this service is only available within a 30 mile radius of Plymouth city centre. If you would like further details, please ask at time of reservation and we would be happy to supply a quote for this.
